Our beers : Patience for Eylenbosch & Eylenbosch

A tasty beer requires love, craftmanship …and patience. That most certainly is true for Old Gueuze and Kriek. The first batch of lambic has been brewed in April 2019 and is ageing in oak barrels, but tasting the “new” Eylenbosch Oude Gueuze and Kriek was only possible after years of patience, in January 2021 when the first production was ready.

In the meantime, Eylenbosch was of course not allowed to be a brewery without beer. Awaiting our lambic beers, we brewed specialty beers of top fermentation, with the appropriate name "Patience for Eylenbosch".

The first variety was a Saison of 5.5%, a typical beer from Wallonia. The second variety was a Pale Ale Speciale of 5.8%, a typical Belgian beer and our third, a Special Blond of 6.5%, has been available since January 2021.

PATIENCE FOR EYLENBOSCH: NU ALREADY 3 TASTY TOP FERMENTED BEERS

SAISON 5.5 %

TYPE: The first variety was a Saison of 5.5%, a typical beer from Wallonia. A dark blond beer with a thick, white head. The taste is dry, spicy and round, with a pleasant hop bitterness that lasts for a long time. A cool thirst-quencher with a lot of flavour and relatively little alcohol.

DESCRIPTION: Saison is a beer style that originated in the province of Hainaut. Farmers brewed this beer during the cold winter months for their seasonal workers, who worked in the fields in the summer. Lambic was once brewed for the same reason, but around Brussels, in the Senne valley and in the Pajottenland.
